He has been terrorized by his parents already. I had a student who was brought here by his parents through a Coyote from Mexico. He only knew his grandmother and thought his parents were kidnappers. He had no bond with his parents or younger siblings. That boy was completely messed up, completely paranoid about the police. He would jump into hedges on the way home and hide behind trees if a car passed by. He lived in a Hispanic part of the city. When you are here illegally, it makes your whole life a gamble.
