The first Europeans to explore & settle in the area known today as "Colorado" were the Spanish.
Some say the first Spanish explorers or Spanish settlers named the territory after the various Red Rock formations that line the eastern & western perimeter of the Rocky Mountains.
Others say the territory was named after the reddish color of Colorado River, turned red by the erosion of the mostly red granite Rocky Mountains.
"Coloreado" or "Coloreado Rojo" is where Colorado derives its name as a State.
I prefer to believe that it was Francisco Vázquez de Coronado, the Conquistador looking for El Dorado City of Gold, the same explorer who left behind our Cherished Mesteño, or Spanish Mustang Horse that became the Wild Mustangs ridden by the Various Native American Tribes of the West and an American National Treasure, who named it after the RED COLORED RIVER.
One thing is for sure.
Things are about to get HABANERO SPICY in Colorado.

Interesting post ol_Cowboy! Appreciate the history. 💖 The Mustangs are incredibly beautiful & strong. One of my favorites for sure. I enjoy Robert Malone's substack too when he shows his homestead & gorgeous horses & emu, etc.
Recently have family because of job situation moved from FL. to CO. Therefore I have had a deeper personal interest in the way things are 👹 being run off course 👹 there so 🙏pray 🙏often for them as well as Ms. Peters. Justice is coming I believe! ⏰💥

Mac7, I have a Spanish Mustang Mare. She's old like me, but she's Amazing and SO DANG SMART, she could pick the locks off my hay barn doors if she had hands. 😂
The Spanish Mustang is a smaller horse, but VERY HEARTY, and mine has Zebra Stripes on her legs just like this one 👇 and I am POSITIVE that is a gene that originates from the African Zebra in those Mustangs. They are amazing horses.
Currently the BLM manages many of these herds, and that's something else that needs to change, IMO. Mustangs are our National Heritage and sometimes they are killed for meat (which I fund utterly disgusting I don't care the culture - I'm a Cowboy we don't eat horses). Our Mustangs really need to be declared a National Treasure, totally PROTECTED, they are SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR AMERICAN HERITAGE.
If you ever want to see a great movie on the Mustang, watch "HIDALGO". 🤠 What a GREAT MOVIE that is. That Cowboy's me right there. 😂

Wow! ol_Cowboy, such an amazing pic. Love the stripes. Thanks again for sharing about the Mustangs & I most certainly do want to watch that movie. I have a deep soft spot in my heart for both horses & dogs as they are so very intelligent and can be such characters. Their antics can be humorous & learn quickly how to make ya laugh it seems to me.

So I made it half way through the movie, Hidalgo. Amazing, beautiful painted Mustang for sure. I loved the vibe as he called the horse "brother". Those brutal desert scenes stopped me in my tracks. Was the horse going to die? I couldn't take a chance to watch it. I am still suffering from my dog dying, then my husband's dog dying later so am too sensitive if you can understand. But I am so glad I got to see such a strong, smart Mustang. Thank you.

The ending is AMAZING 😃, and "Far Rider" basically experiences a Vision Quest.
Enjoy!!! 🤠
It's a True Story, but the arrogant Cabal hates the Frank Hopkins story, "fact checking" it everywhere, being Phrygians and all - so proud of their Thoroughbred bloodlines. Same attitude shown in the movie.
I'm very sorry to hear Y'All lost your doggies. I lost my favorite doggie this year too. 😥

Thank you ol_cowboy.
I really do feel for ya and am truly sorry to hear of your loss. Some days are tough.
I raised my "funny girl" from a pup and she was my side kick for 15 years. I have always cared for a dog but she was my favorite. She blessed with much laughter as she played her silly games. It seems I am getting too old to get another dog. I suppose that could change if med beds do become available. Shoot. If so, I think I would in a flash. 😊
