though the verses seem to be referring to individual believers, the context prior refers to the formation of the New Testament.
notice the subject in the prior verses; ways G_d's word was originally delivered to believers. When these means of delivery were exhausted, the completed WORD would exist.

other Bible verses, of course exist, which expound on the glories ahead for Christians.
