The data does not reside on a "hard drive". It flows through various veins of the internet. No matter the origin or the destination of the files - they all MUST travel along those veins. So sinking and destroying hard drives to cover up data is pointless. Nobody can actually retrieve that data and it is still residing somewhere on that darned old internet. It will pop up over there or over here or out back or in front. But it will pop up.
