America under Common Law was basically the same, and that's what we will return to, after a period of Military Justice. If someone was harmed in the Ol' West, had their horse stolen, and a Man's livelihood & survival depended on his horse, the horse thief was jailed, a court was convened with a jury of peers chosen, and a Justice of the Peace was called in to oversee the proceeding. Evidence & testimony was presented, the Jury reached a verdict, and if it was Death for Horse Stealin', the sentence was carried out quickly.
Town jails were small. No need for huge facilities, because it WAS NOT A BUSINESS.

MANDATORY DEATH SENTENCES are critical, not for People to experience vengeance, but so Monsters thinking of raping or killing SEE what the penalty is.

o_c, while I don't condone what Luigi Mangione did, there are numerous people in the "healthcare" industry who have knowingly caused a plethora of people pain, suffering and death.
They have gotten away with their crimes for a long time, where some are already long gone.
But it is time to put the fear of God and severe punishment for their crimes against humanity.
