Yep, MR BEAR IS BACK 🐻, and he could see me but I couldn't see him. Heaven's Sakes, didn't have my floodlight OR my Bear Spray - AND I JUST FINISHED TELLIN' MY FAM ALL WEEK WATCH OUT FOR BEARS, 'TIS THE SEASON.
Got that big CHILL up my back, too, so I know he was close.

Had my gun but that only pisses them off worse.

Yep, even Ol' Cowboy sometimes falls into that Normalcy Bias.
Just because I never been eaten by a bear, I go on thinkin' I won't be.

Good thing I didn't have a salmon dinner.

oh ya...we need to swap stories. YUP. GOD has been SOoooooo good to me, and the stories my Guardian Angels could tell ya... LOLOL.. Ive had more than 1 and though I laugh about it, something tells me they flip a coin when they pull the duty rooster. LOLOLOLOL

I've been Momma-Beared with Cub suddenly, and lived to talk about it. She must have seen my Guardian Angel, cuz it sure wasn't my cologne that scared her off. I was wearin' Salmon #5 ! 🎣😂🤣😂

HAHAHAHA... It was dark outside and I was riding my bike home from the cannery down on the docks. Theres no streelights, but I knew the road and I thought it was Farmer John's Big dog BlueBoy running along side me, which was normal during daylight hrs and I was singing and laughing and sctratching his head and he licked my knee and kept running alongside of me. AND then, in the distance was headlights coming at us and I was kinda blinded and when I looked down at NOT BlueBoy, the truck started honking his horn and the reality of where my right hand was still scratching his head struck me. All I could say was, "Hi Handsome Boy". It was a still a teenage bear cub and liked my smell, cuz I just got done unloading a gillnetter filled with salmon. I pedaled faster and he turned up another driveway. I still had 1/2 mile to bike home QUICKLY.
(like I said...I think sometimes the Angelic Host play 'rock, paper, scissors" when they watch me.)

Nothin' like salmon perfuuuume!

Many years ago I was doing flood recovery in a town SMASHED. Bear country, and because all the homes flooded everyone's fridge & pantry was floated all over the house and Bears were having a field day. Anyways, my survival food is canned salmon - so after running my equipment all day digging homes & pullin' cars out the river, I chowed down on 2 cans of cold salmon dinner. So hungry I splashed oil all over my truck & myself, like a dope. Then I look down, nearly standin' in bearscat. So I tip-toe quietly over to the roll back dumpster, toss the cans in "clink, clink" and then I hear a "thud, thud", walk around the other side the dumpster to investigate and it's big MommaBear and her Cub! Didn't even have time to draw my pistol we were nose to nose and I woulda just pissed her off anyhow! So I got big as I could and ROARED right in her face! She turned-tail & ran!
Musta been my Guardian Angel, cuz it wasn't my breath! 😂

Me too. I kinda have this mutual understanding deal with animals. Like when one of my Bulls decided to turn around and charge me full speed with his horns big as Texas. I understood him real good as I was spinnin' upside down way up there in the air. 😳
I was just glad his horns went on either side of my hips when he tossed me way up there in the sky and not offset with one of his horns stickin' straight through me like a Pamplona runner. 😂 That woulda sucked royal.

Sounds like you walk on the razors edge and survive. Those bulls look really dangerous to me.

Sometimes I think I have one.

I've seen 3 videos with people standing about 1 foot away from bisons doing selfies. These 3 different videos the bison picked up the people with it's horns in a split second, and kept flipping them. One of them looked like a rag doll.
