Russia is quietly redefining how it values family life.

Today, mothers already receive pension credit for up to six years spent raising children.

But lawmakers are now pushing further, proposing to count all years spent raising children toward pensions, removing the cap and possibly recognising stay-at-home motherhood as official employment.

It’s not law yet, but the direction is clear: Russia is moving toward a system that treats raising the next generation not as a career gap, but as an important service to the future of the nation.
