Yeah I agree in principle but let's be real. No one in Congress is living paycheck to paycheck like many Americans so this will have no real effect other than virtue signaling.
You want to prevent government shutdowns then you should suspend their pay and fine them an equivalent amount from their personal accounts, not campaign funds, for every day the government is shut down.
