The SNAP program needs a massive overhaul, as does the entire welfare system which is fraught with abuse.
It should be a HAND UP to help those who find themselves on hard times.
It has become a HAND OUT for those who choose not to work.
People who do work provide the money for the system that allows those who WON'T work to suck the teats of the gov't cash cow.
I remember the first housing project built in my small town in the 70's. Within ONE YEAR the apartment complex was trashed, but several of the residents had new Cadillacs parked outside. Priorities 🙄🤦♀️.
Knew a guy whose mother lived in NYC. She came from a Caribbean island in the 70s, started doing drugs in the 80s, and has lived on food stamps and Section 8 ever since. Our tax $$ at work 🤬
We allow - and thus encourage - sloth, helplessness, and an entitlement mentality that's passed on through generations.
Bad behavior should not have beneficial consequences.
It's disgusting, and it has to change.

They should be able to discern the abusers, particularly the generational abusers, by the length of time each recipient has been on the program, among other factors.
There's so much fraud in the system -- some people are on welfare 10-20-30-40 years, and raise their kids and grandkids to be on it, too. Their food, housing, and electricity is paid by taxes from working people. It breeds worthlessness in those scamming the system, and contempt from those being forced to foot the bill.
Same thing with disability. There are some who are genuinely disabled, and others who fake disability because they're lazy.
Theres a difference between UNABLE and UNWILLING.
The unwilling should not be allowed to take from a system instituted to protect the unable.

As far as length of time, most of disabled are permanently disabled and elderly dont get younger, so that is an area that would need to be looked at carefully. I had a friend that abused the system so she kept having kids to stay on it. Absent husbands, divorce, who watches the children...If I had had children I would not want someone else to raise them, that would be my job....but then the Cabal set us up for this situation...right (?) My father supported a family of 5 on a teachers salary and had a nice home on a quarter acre in an well to do area. Times are very different for us now, planned that way, It needs to change.

Part of the problem to is the people behind the desk. Most feel sorry for the recipient, when they should be giving some "tough love"

I remember years ago they would randomly investigate those on disability, there would be people who would spy on them to make sure they weren't faking it. Perhaps something like that needs to be brought back.
