Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani just vowed to shut down Rikers Island releasing up to 7,000 criminals back into New York City. During the final debate, Mamdani called Rikers a “stain on history,” while Curtis Sliwa and Andrew Cuomo warned the plan would fuel chaos in a city already drowning in crime.
