As a nurse I can tell you a key to recovery after abdominal surgery is deep breathing, slowly increasing movement which is gentle walking and moving the extremities. Flexing and releasing those muscles. Proper hydration and a nutritional diet in smaller more frequent amounts helps to avoid nausea. Clear liquids to full liquids then advance slowly to solid food. πŸ˜‡
