What great treatments! Another thing to consider is to try and figure out the root cause of the issue - and then discontinue whatever is causing the issue: I've stopped taking antihistamines because it causes me to have restless leg syndrome; I've stopped taking B6 (supplements & fortified food) because it causes me to have peripheral neuropathy; my husband has stopped taking whey protein because the histidine and NAC in it cause flare-ups with his immune system. Sometimes a take-away will resolve the issue.

Also fever reduction can be accomplished by:
Keeping self or child well hydrated with filtered alkaline water
Applying cool compresses to forehead, back of neck and arm pits.
Avoiding wrapping up in blankets
Take a cool shower or bath
Deep breathing
