The Data Center issue has not been resolved in the city where I live.
When the article says there was a public hearing it really means all City Council meetings are public. It doesn't mean that the public had been notified ahead of time that approving zoning for a Data Center was on the Agenda.
Council members reported, afterwards, that they were 'forced' into voting because the Atty for Balloonist LLC told them that if they didn't vote for the zoning change the offer would be off the table.
INSTEAD of telling the Atty to not let the door hit him in the way out they voted to annex 300+A of land into the city and change the zoning from AG to Industrial.
Community members learned about this after the vote.
Total LACK OF TRANSPARENCY.
