I was recently in Crete visited a few Byzantium Churches
They were close too God
The Coptics were even closer
The Cathars had it all but the Catholic Church launched a 50 year Crusade in Europe too kill them all and from that came the Inquisition

Beautiful Robert. Don't let the ethnic association confuse you. All the Orthodox are one Church. Greek, Russian, Antiochian, etc only refers to their apostolic lineage of the original 12 apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Orthodox Church is Denominational and prior to the Roman Catholic schism of 1054 and way ahead of the Protestant Reformation.
There are many wonderful YouTube presentations bringing knowledge of Orthodox Christianity. Ironically it was the only Christian church for over 1000 years, but it was the first church in America. It came from Russian missions that were established and embraced by the tribes of Alaska. Oh so much more....keep digging visit ANY Orthodox service near you.

PS there is no distruction. Half the Christian world remains Orthodox. They just haven't had the media coverage. 🤭☦️
