If a mosquito bites you, heat a metal spoon under hot tap water (not scalding) and press it gently onto the bite for 10-20 seconds. The heat can denature the proteins (like anticoagulants) left by the mosquito that trigger your immune reaction and histamine release, which cause the itching and swelling.
This simple method works because most proteins break down at temperatures above ~45-50°C (113-122°F), reducing the allergic response.
Always ensure the spoon is hot but safe to avoid burns.
