You’re trying to answer a spiritual question with human characteristics. Yes all of those play into humanity mind, soul, body. But we are a spirit living in a body with a mind and soul. I am speaking of our spirits which the Bible says is fallen until we except salvation. Anyone in that state can be convinced/deceived/coerced to following evil even to demonic possession which IMO is what explains this type of depravity.
We are made in the image of God but God is only in us once we except salvation. We fell from fellowship with God the day Adam and Eve were deceived into disobeying Him.
There are also the bloodlines of the offspring of the fallen ones mating with humans. They are the main perpetrators of Satans agenda as they have aligned with and worship him. They are the ones called elites, at the top. It still boils down to he is at the top and uses any human willing to allow it. Yes some people just have a depraved mind but they gave in to sin to become that way.

I trust the Bible and God’s plan over Q. Q was written by fallible men and if what it says doesn’t line up with God’s word then I have to take His word over Q’s. Man plans and God laughs. Psalms 2.

The trouble with 'people' or humans, whichever they may be, is many of us have difficulty in believing in something that can't be seen.

I have personally had experiences of communications with 'a' spirit, or more, the result being physical actions which appeared to answer my non-verbal communication. The first physical action was sprung on me in 2021 around 4 months after a death, it was after that I mentally communicated and got results! I believe it was a sign to show me that there is another sphere of existence after the physical body 'dies'.

I was not brought up with a religion per se. That left my mind free to ponder, experience, evaluate etc. Apart from an experience I had many years ago when one of my cats was hit by a car (I reared them from 3 days old), my first real experience was being presented to a deceased person during the night (around 6 months after passing), & asked to give a message to her daughter to say she was alright.
