The issue is Congress receiving to much for to little time served. Period
You cannot compare the two because fiscally it would be impossible to pay the service members the same way Congress is paid.
In 2022 there were 619 retired congress members drawing pensions.
In 2021 there were 660,000 retired service members drawing pensions.
The answer is to abolish the retirement and benefits of congress entirely. It was never meant to be a career and should not be treated as such.
