Glad you and your Husband are OK Hope.
Praying for Everyone's Protection. π
All Americans need to stay WISE, VERY ALERT and AWARE of your surroundings 24/7.
Be always prepared in your Self-Defense and most importantly Don't Go Out Looking for Trouble.

Don't fall into complacency or that "Normalcy Bias".
Just be prepared, NOT scared.
If you see something suspicious, report it to Law Enforcement or call 911.

Hope, I pray Medbeds get rolled out to the Public fast and hear they can resolve PTSD.
I would just report such a rear-end incident to Law Enforcement and leave it there, remaining vigilant 24/7. That's what I would do.
I have been rear-ended 3 times in the same exact Dodge Truck which still drives fine, because I have huge steel bumpers on it, and every time it was a different individual NOT paying attention.
Once, it was a DRUNK doing 50 MPH into my rear while I was stopped at a stoplight, and THEN he tried to drive off! Only problem is the front of his cheapo car was obliterated and it conked out after 15 ft. He's in jail now for repeated DUIs, and thankfully my truck was so big it only smashed my three lil' red running lights.
There are plenty Psychos out there, easy to trigger into Road-Rage, and the best thing is just to avoid & report, IMO.
I was a commercial driver for years. Every day someone would try run me off the road, once up onto a sidewalk - I remain calm
