Roadblocks are not only illegal in Guatemala, they are a direct violation of its Constitution 🇬🇹
US diplomacy 🇺🇸 did not side with the law; they sided with the international left against the law.
The then Police Chief, former minister of mingobguate, was eventually arrested ⤵️
He was charged with failure to uphold the law and disobeying court orders (the Guatemalan equivalent of the USSupremeCourt
ordered the former government to uphold the law)

Did things change when DonaldTrump
took office? Well, no.
Recently, various #USAID -funded & NGO-funded organizers of the roadblocks were arrested for their involvement in the logistics behind the roadblocks.
In reaction to the arrests, the same usembassyguate
coordinated an attack, but this time not through official statements & accounts, but through their close NGO-associates.
