The etymology of sin actually means without, not evil
And what YOU are referring to is Pridefullness, not the same thing, Christians should really educate themselves on language
To have pride in things one has accomplished is not an evil act, it is when YOU denounce other's Memorial for whatever reason, like Christians do with other religions, is when pride becomes malevolent aka pridefullness,
