This hive was a 4 frame starter kit last year it made 47lbs of honey plus I left 70 lbs on for winter- I split the hive 4 weeks ago taking honey bees and capped bees for another hive.
Yesterday I checked them and I have 1 deep 2 medium supers 90% full of honey.
Nectar flow starts in May here but these super producers are way ahead.
60-70lbs on a deep box
35-40lbs on a medium box

Will pull at least 120 lbs in about a week

Then end of July end of September will harvest again

These are special bred Texas 5000
High producers and very docile
I suspect a lot of mesquite on this batch
It's an absolutely amazing hobby.

Am hooked for years now. Raw and unfiltered from wildflowers comes from a farm about 30 miles from here, I get at Giant Eagle. $26 for 3 lbs. I get a week out of it. Honey's secret will soon be out, oh my! NCSWIC
