The November 2004 Second Battle of Fallujah was the largest urban combat operation since Vietnam and remains the largest in the 20-year Global War on Terror. Four Marine Corps and two Army battalions, along with hundreds of other support elements across all branches and nationalities, labored block by block for over a month to take back control of the heavily contested city in a fight for the very soul of Iraq.
This is the story of one company involved in that massive operation, Charlie Company “Warpigs,” 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. These men, who were once young and aggressive Marines, now tell their stories after 20 years of personal growth and relative silence.
Combat is confusing, complicated, and even comical at times. “Warpigs: Block to Block in Fallujah” takes you through that experience with intimate testimony of those who endured it. From acts of heroism to moments of regret, you will be shown the raw and messy experience of urban combat.
