One round of anti-parasitic medications like Ivermectin or Fenbendazole likely aren't enough for anything. Humans, dogs, horses, etc...

Has to be treated on a schedule, repeatedly, because PARASITES are smart and have self-defenses. Some, for example, release chemicals when killed to instruct eggs not to hatch (staying in cyst form) for a time, in the effort of self-preservation in the host. So they hatch later and the problem starts all over again unless the next batch and the next batch of eggs hatching are also killed.

Gross & disgusting, for sure, but that's the reality of parasites. Smart lil' buggars.
