Consider the devil's last wilderness temptation of Jesus in context of 'draining the swamp'
"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." Mt4:8-9
While pondering the implication of this passage:
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 2Cor11:13-14
