The evil bastards opened the floodgates before the hurricane arrived 😑

I have a video that proves it, but I can't post videos on AU anymore for some reason.

I live in Yancey county. I was without power for 22 days. I saw & am still seeing the devastation first hand. There was nothing that could be done from a human perspective to stop the flooding. No flood gate or dam was going to be able to stop the sheer magnitude of water coming off the mountains. You have to remember the mountains in NC and Tennessee are the tallest mountains on the east coast. Mount Mitchell, the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi is less than 10 miles from my home, as the crow flies. All the water funneled down the mountains into water ways that never handled that much water. I have a stream less than 4 feet wide going under my driveway. On Friday morning of the storm, that stream was over 75 feet wide, a raging river, totally washing over part of my driveway, just to give you an example of how much water came down the mountains.
