Isaiah 1:18
New King James Version

“Come Now, and Let us Reason Together,”
Says The LORD,

“Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD” is a Bible verse from Isaiah 1:18:

“Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool'”

In this verse, God is telling the people of Judah to examine their case and make corrections. If they do, they will be forgiven.

Here are some interpretations of the verse:

Reasoning with God: God has allowed people to reason with him in the past, such as in Genesis 18:23-32, Exodus 4:1-17, Job 23:3-7, and Micah 6:2.

Transfiguration: God is the only one who can transfigure people so they are "white as snow".

Blood of the lamb: The blood of the lamb is to bleach

Blood of the lamb: The blood of the lamb is to bleach and cleanse, as in Revelation 3:4-5 and Revelation 7:14.

Snow as an image of purity: Snow is a perfect image of purity, as in Job 9:30 and Lamentations 4:7.

Wool as a weaker illustration: Wool is a weaker illustration than snow, but is needed for parallelism.
