It wasnt just about monetary comtrol. Soon after WW2 Europe got large doses of socialism, the halfway house to communism. In the UK they soon took over education and the NHS took over health. Now in the UK you are born in a STATE bed, you are educated at a STATE school and the BBC is run by the STATE and your average Joe citizen thinks they are free LOL
