No, but I'm about to. Thank you for this post! My brother and I had become confused by the Barabbas story; Bar Abbas meaning "son of father." In the NRSV translation of the bible, Barabbas is given a first name in Matthew's account. That first name is: Jesus.
So, Jesus Christ, Son of the Father and Jesus Bar abbas which translates as "Jesus, son of father." "Jesus" is crucified and the Bar abbas story just ends there. Confusion.

Alexander Hislop, in his book, "The Two Babylons" does write about Attes "...Attes (Attis) this "Man of sin," after passing through sorrows and sufferings, which his worshippers yearly commemorated, the distinguishing characteristics and glories of the Messiah were given. He was identified with the sun, the one only god; ..."
