🚨 Leader JD Vance reviewing everything in Western North Carolina today and learning about the water levels and how quickly the water rose (in this building, to 16 feet) - which Chief says was the quickest they've ever seen in their lives.
He is told that one of the homes got turned a complete 90 degrees from the flood waters.
"Water came up so fast that they were trying to just get evacuees into fire trucks as quickly as possible [...] water rose 3 feet in a matter of minutes."
Chief says all stations were isolated from each other and many ended up on separate islands, forcing them back to their stations - further says the fire EMS crews lived three days under the gas station awning.
JD says at the end: "What all do you need."
This man... what an amazing person. I'm so proud to see this. This administration has been sorely needed. January 20th can't come soon enough!
