VK: RLUSD is a stable coin that will = 1 USD. It runs on XRPL and uses XRP for transactions fees. Its the onramp before the bridge.
However If USD gets backed by gold so would RLUSD but the price would still remain 1:1 so its not really an investment opportunity to invest in RLUSD at this point unless they are offering a generous interest rate imo.
