Cord circulation continues for 30+ minutes after birth- meaning for over 30 minutes, stem cells, blood and vital nutrients are meant to be pumping into the baby. When the cord is clamped right away, the child usually gasps for air, because they were receiving oxygen from the cord.
This is why babies can be born underwater and not drown, as they don't need to use their lungs right away.

So how long would it take to naturally fall off? My wife would never go for that idea at all if it takes weeks to fall off. She told me so....so Im just relaying the message...please keep the messenger(me) safe. Makes sense about the hour after before cutting to get as many nutrients possible first. This was interesting, never thought about the cutting doctor thing...kudos for that info thanks PATRIOT🇺🇸.
