I studied this within my career and learned that seeking health information often turns up bad messages, disturbing diagnoses, difficult explanations, conflicting advice, meaningless descriptions, etc. It makes people feed bad, stupid, threatened, and more. So they avoid looking, researching and learning. It takes effort, discipline and fortitude to do effective research.
