Happy Veterans' Day
My father was a WWII paratrooper - wounded in Sicily in 1943. He returned home with the loss of his left hand and forearm. He died in 1986 with lung and brain cancer. He suffered his post war days with PTSD.
My brother was a Sergeant in the USMC. He served 13 months in Viet Nam from 1965-1966. He returned home in 1967 suffering from the effects of Agent Orange to finally pass away in the VA hospital in December 1967.
I was a Petty Officer 2nd class in the USN from 1985 to 1992. It was an amazing experience. It was a great honor.
God bless the USA and all the service personnel protecting our great land. We must never forget the sacrifices that have been made to secure our land from enemies. Those who serve(d) forged a better opportunity for those who did not serve.
