A long time ago Jesus threw a Life Preserver to all of humanity.

It was rejected, scoffed at, spit upon, removed from our churches, from our schools, government buildings, from the People’s House and from the very fabric of society.

That Life Preserver has always been in front of us, available at a moments notice.

Many years ago I stood at the edge of Niagara Falls, just above it, separated by an iron fence from certain death.

The day before, a young man climbed over the fence and was washed away. A vigil was being held at that spot and I just happened upon it.

Many friends and family and strangers were there, weeping and praying.

I joined in.

I couldn’t imagine this man’s state of mind.

I’m sure Jesus was waiting for him. The young man did not know Jesus was always there, at the ready to save him.

He did not grab hold of the Life Preserver.

It is time.

Grab hold like your life depends on it…..because it does.

Faith and belief will carry the day.
