Would it make sense to lockdown the Planet for 10 days then do the 3 day EVENT?

We just went through Hurricane Helene where for 3 days people people were out of power stores closed, etc. I think it would be cruel to shut down the world for 10+ days & unnecessary. We know this is a movie and most of the bad guys were arrested. Not cool
