Have you read "Thanks for the Memories" by Bryce Taylor? She talks about a lot of the OG country stars. Merle Haggard was a slave handler. Kris Kristofferson.is involved. She names James Dean and Jerry Reed. I got it from the Internet Archives. I don't know if it's still there. It's hard to find.
