SEEKING ADVICE
My mom was diagnosed w/ breast cancer (invasive lobular carcinoma) in June, she's used alternative treatments for past 2 months (Soursop tea, apricot kernels, & a mushroom extract). She had an MRI on Monday; we got a copy. The radiologist report states, "There is enhancing architectural distortion with signal void corresponding to the site of biopsy-proven malignancy at the 10:00 position middle depth extending slightly below the nipple as well as into the central and upper central right breast measuring 5.6 cm x 4.3 cm x 3.7 cm (AP x CC x TV) with associated nipple retraction."
Her surgeon called w/ MRI results & repeated info from above & asked if we had questions. I said "The report says the tissue is distorted yet previously it was referred to as a mass. I couldn't identify any "mass" in the images. Which is it, distorted tissue or a solid mass?" HIs response "What does it matter?"

I would call the radiologist, and have them explain their description to you in layman's terms, and have them compare the two images.
You are not asking them for treatment, just a description of what they see.

I was praying after 2 months on alternatives the MRI would have shown definitively that the mass had shrunk. Instead, the MRI report came back that it was larger than first described in the mammogram. ðŸ˜
