I told my kids today never to eat food from a Halalel restaurant.
You're not supposed to eat food offered to idols and when the Muslims slaughter their meat they pray to Mohammed.
We got lots of halalal restaurants popping up around here because apparently thst's ALL *they* can eat.
Now Paul says we can eat anythjng, so what about that? We can eat food offered to idols according to him, but that contradicts the first law.
Either way, I told my kids, the slaughtering criteria for halalal is supposedly cruel.
Don't eat it/ better safe than sorry

Paul did not say we can eat anything. That is not what that verse is about. It is about other humans not being unclean or common. It is not about food.

i think it is both literal and metaphor, imho, a double entendre but i will have to re-read it again as i could be wrong
