Tyrannies rule through fraud and force. But once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force. Tyrannical powers initially maintain control through a combination of deception & coercion. However once their deceit is uncovered and their legitimacy is questioned they must resort to using force alone to maintain power.
This idea highlights the importance of propaganda, manipulation, & misinformation in sustaining authoritarian rule. Tyrannical regimes employ tactics such as censorship, propaganda, & misinformation campaigns to control public perception & maintain their grip on power. By deceiving or manipulating the populace, they seek to justify their authority & suppress dissent.

When truth begins to emerge & people become aware of the deception the regime loses its ability to govern through persuasion or manipulation alone. Then the regime may resort to more overt forms of repression & violence to maintain control as its legitimacy becomes increasingly undermined.
Throughout history there have been numerous examples of authoritarian regimes that have relied on both deception & coercion to maintain power including the suppression of dissent , manipulation of information & the use of violence against perceived threats to their authority.
