They are automatically weeding out applicants whom the company deemed to have failed a criminal background check.
Many companies in the US do this via 3rd party background checks.
IMO, This is another form of lawfare, Even if not guilty DOJ will tie them up and force them to capitulate or spend a lot of money defending the charges possibly bankrupting the company or making them easy takeover target.
