I was thinking about this today. IMHO, this is to allow investigations into those helping the newcomers as well as those planning other nefarious activities. People are always pointing at the government actors and trying to stir up outrage but failing to recognize that crowd is not the one getting their hands dirty. I suspect all those helping to overthrow our country might find out soon the former paymasters will not be bailing them out. Just my opinion.
