Psalm 80:16 (NRSV)
16 They have burned it with fire, they have cut it down;
may they perish at the rebuke of your countenance.
This seems to be the Psalmist's wish...

How is love that wants to dwell with his people wrath? Or is it Him/them in terrible anguish wishing to eternally END the suffering of their choice?

Psalm 80:3 (NRSV)
3 Restore us, O God;
let your face shine, that we may be saved.

Jeremiah 24:7 (NRSV)
7 I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord; and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.

The Hebrew word for “restore” here comes from a common word that means to “return,” and it is used again and again in the Bible with God calling His people, who have wandered away, to return to Him. It is closely linked to the idea of repentance, of turning away from sin and back to God.

Psalm 80:7 (NRSV)
7 Restore us, O God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved.🙏
