The accounts on X endlessly promoting crypto “whoosh to wealth” make me a bit queasy. Nothing wrong with smart investments and good fortune, but it has a yukky ethos as the primary focus. So much has been sacrificed to wake people up, skip around civil war, stop the genocide, halt the child trafficking, expose the corruption everywhere… cash doesn’t substitute for those. The elevation of algorithmic recommended content over organic also makes it feel too much like FB. I wish I could delete my X account and leave, but we cannot abandon the battlefield.
