After my mother died I found out her biological father was Lester Gillis. Her cousin had told her he died when she was 12. That would've meant Lester, aka Babyface Nelson, died in 1946 and not 1932 shot by the feds like the newspapers said. My mother even saw him once, when he came to her house with his wife to argue over custody or visitation. I subsequently read up on Babyface Nelson and it turns out there's a lot of inconsistencies and flat out lies to the old FBI narrative. Same as it ever was.
My grandfather went into witness protection at age 26, and immediately after were Dillinger and Dutch Schultz killed. He must've died at 38.
