Soon the unit, trained to operate behind enemy lines,
became regarded as an *elite* force.”

specifically requested the Green Berets
serve in her husband’s honor guard.
Maj. Francis Ruddy, a Special Forces soldier,
laid his “Green Beret” upon the grave of the fallen president
