1990 I was studying Graduate Art Psychotherapy
As an intern in a mental hospital, I was responsible for teaching art to groups of patients
The ward I chose was Behavioral Disorders which were wide-ranged and stemmed from abuse and/or traumatic experience.
I also had to read patient files.
I soon realized that I better learn to face evil or I wouldn't be able to do this at all!
The abuses were - to this day -
words escape me.
One of the patients had multiple personalities-dissociative disorder and I had to call her Laurie one day, the next day, Barbara, etc
She never, ever smiled until one time when she had drawn a beautiful picture and I told her so.
Then she smiled.
She had survived Satanic Ritual Abuse.
We have to face it if we want to stop it and also heal people like Laurie-Barbara.
But evil always makes me sick even as I'm determined to fight it.
