Hemp is good for some many things.
If I remember correctly, the cotton and wood pulp industries were two of the culprits that got hemp banned. They did so by demonizing cannabis, and then convinced the public that cannabis and hemp were one in the same. Thus trying to protect their own greedy profits.
Today I was researching the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Majority of the sculptures, statues, and building facades were made of a product called staff. They were temporary and only expected to hold up for a year or two. Staff was an easy to carve product made from plaster of paris and hemp fiber applied over a wood frame.
