iPads, electronic games (even education), giving the kid a phone, and the like do not teach - all they do is placate.
Why?
There is no back-and-forth interaction with the child

Yes, the need stimuli, but stimuli that plays off the kid, physically, emotionally, intellectually, etc; otherwise the kid becomes a sponge or a robot.

Or they may become a 'wolf-child' and become unruly over time because the cannot manage their emotions and thoughts and always get what they want/left alone to their own devices...... so sad.
