I just drop it. There would be no way to prove it.

You exactly correct my parent sold a home last year In calif and had to pay some 300k in taxes this year told them to wait and of course they did not wait.

They still have many people in fear. I started a part time job about 5 months ago and opted out of getting my taxes taken out. I just increased my dependants on my W-4. My husband still won't do that. 3 yrs ago I took out some money from my 401K. Owed them some taxes on it. I ignored them and got a letter that they sent it to collections. I've never in my life ever heard of them doing that. Haven't heard anything from either the IRS or Collections. Keeping my fingers crossed. I think you have to take it upon yourself to get out of their matrix.
