Ethiopia follows a 13-month calendar seven years behind the Gregorian calendar, which was amended by the Roman church in 525 A.D. Despite this difference, Ethiopians celebrated the new millennium on September 11, 2007 due to continuing with this same calendar. The International Fixed Calendar is a 13-month calendar with 28 days in each month and a leftover day at the end.
